CHANGE: MAKING THE LEAP
An Organizational Change Management Training Program
“The session was so timely and appropriate for the current business environment. It helped our employees better understand the transition they are going through, and provided realistic tools and techniques for dealing with the change process. The participants appreciated the practical and personal approach of the presentation, and everyone came away from the session a ‘changed’ person.”

Change is everywhere and affects everyone. Yet the nature of change in business often results in lowered productivity, upset staff and frustrated managers. No matter how well-planned the change strategy, successfully moving from the known and familiar to the uncertainty of new ways and methods requires every staff member to have the tools and awareness for dealing with the disruption of emotions as well as routine.
This half-day workshop, designed for managers or staff, presents tools and techniques for rapidly moving through the predictable ups and downs of transition. And while change is never easy or fully predictable, the workshop’s key principles offer realistic and proven ways for transforming the change process into an opportunity for improved productivity, collaboration and innovation. The workshop is participative and engaging, using small groups, role-plays and discussion to ensure pertinent and tailored information to every individual.
The workshop consists of three parts:
Part 1: Understanding Change
No company embarks on a change initiative looking to deliberately intensify the difficulties inherent in the process, yet most managers and staff do not recognize the critical concerns that change brings about or what can be done about them. This part covers such topics as:
- Pushing the limits of our comfort zone
- Our personal change scenario
- Five key reasons we dislike change
- Techniques for reducing our resistance to transition
Part 2: The Four Stages of Change
Knowing and understanding the four predictable stages of change can help every staff member prepare for and efficiently negotiate the inevitable challenges of transition. This part of the workshop explains how to manage each stage and provides techniques and tools for dealing with the communication and productivity issues specific to the four stages. This part covers such topics as:
- Avoiding the trap of the unhealthy change curve
- Moving smoothly from denial to acceptance
- Productivity tools for chaotic times
- Reducing stress by shifting your perspective
Part 3: Working with Other Staff Members
Change involves loss and is characterized by strong emotions that are usually uncomfortable to experience and interact with. By learning how to adapt the way we converse with our colleagues, conflicts can be avoided and collaboration improved. This part covers such topics as:
- Having conversations without judgment
- Distinguishing empathy from sympathy
- Separating the story from the emotions
- The benefits of choosing growth over blame
